Arizona Coyotes Claim Dramatic Overtime Victory Over Edmonton Oilers

Coyotes' Maccelli Scores Game-Winning Goal

Coyotes Win 3-2 In Overtime

GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Arizona Coyotes snapped their seven-game losing streak in dramatic fashion on Friday night, defeating the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 in overtime at Gila River Arena.

Matias Maccelli played the hero for the Coyotes, scoring the game-winning goal just 3:25 into the extra period. The goal came after the Coyotes had rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the third period to force overtime.

The Oilers took an early lead in the game when Connor McDavid scored a power-play goal just 2:33 into the first period. Leon Draisaitl added another goal for the Oilers in the second period, giving them a 2-0 lead.

The Coyotes finally got on the board with a goal from Clayton Keller midway through the third period. Travis Boyd tied the game with just over five minutes remaining in regulation, sending the game to overtime.

In overtime, the Coyotes controlled the puck for much of the period. Maccelli eventually won the game for the Coyotes, taking a pass from Keller and beating Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner with a wrist shot.

The win was a much-needed one for the Coyotes, who had been struggling of late. It was also a big win for Maccelli, who has been one of the Coyotes' most consistent players this season.

The Coyotes will look to build on their win when they host the Calgary Flames on Sunday night.
